BOLT STAR®—It Didn’t Exactly Happen Overnight
The spark for a better tool idea came from seeing the opportunity to re-engineer a wasteful and inefficient construction process. Two electricians, tired of the time-consuming task of building wood templates for light pole bases that were simply discarded after the job, one day declared to one another, “There’s got to be a better way!” They teamed up with an engineer and thus began a 10-year journey of design collaboration, sketches and testing different prototype solutions.
In 2012 along came Ken Gregory with a background in commercial and residential construction, and a sharp eye for innovative products. Ken began working with the inventors of BOLT STAR and eventually joined their Top 50 electrical contractor company. Over the next few years Ken built a business around the innovative BOLT STAR tool. He knew that delivering tools that consistently perform for contractors in the field takes focus and hard work. All BOLT STAR patented tool designs have gone through years of development and rigorous field testing before being readied for market. The prototype BOLT STAR tool was even placed in the hands of experienced site superintendents to test and get straight feedback.
